Creator of project,
Music Photographer / Amateur Vocalist
I decided to create this project as I wanted to demonstrate how people have used/ created music during the lockdown with social distancing measures. This shows how different people have adapted to being creative under these circumstances. As well as this, it is particularly important to support independant artists and venues within the music industry in this uncertain time. #letthemusicplay
Music has always been extremely important to me. I grew up hearing different genres every day through my family influence and now, you're not likely to see me do anything without music on in the background. I use music as a creative output through photograping/ attending live events as well as through singing and creating my own lyrics and music.
During this lockdown, it has not been possible for me to photograph live events. Therefore, I decided to use some of my free time to create my own cover of Ed Sheeran's 'Give Me Love'. This gave me something to work towards and really boosted my confidence as I have not posted anything online of me singing in a long time.
This lockdown has made me realise how important it is to support independant artists or venues and also how music can bring people together and used as a motivator both through listening and creating.
